Thanks, a very useful comment. I will endeavour to only use this storage method if required during trips but will test out @matty 's suggestion also. I have taken up @Ian Bell 's recommendation for a Duralay topper and have one winging its way to me Thanks - and for the 'laughs'...
I once was sailing a Topper in Greece as the wind built to Force 9 .. I think I got to about Force 6 when I did a "bounce" to get it on the plane, thinking about going back to the beach when I found my head suddenly in the water and the mast lying out the other side where it snapped.. it was a pretty wild sail , fortunately an onshore wind so I just drifted back to the beach as the safety boat guys came out and fetched me. It's strange.. the Topper dinghy was the in thing when I was 16. It's still the in thing for teenagers, 44 years later.
Had my first five nights using the duvalay topper (purchased from JK as have a 10% discount) and it has done the job - I can recommend it. Thanks @Ian Bell
We got a piece of memory foam off eBay and cut it to size. It makes the rock and roll bed much comfier, but I don’t seem to remember any more than I used to.
