Grande monte glacier Tignes, Valley Blanche from Cormayer to Chamonix. And a black off piste run that goes off the map to right under a chair lift in Serre Chevalier and goes all the way to Monetier. There’s a similar one in Morgins Porte de Sollie too off the back. Spelling is probably out in one or of the above but got a bit excited by your post!
Psychopath Gully, Breckenridge. Went down it because we liked the name, on a crazy skiing Saturday after a week at work at the then Philips Laser Magnetics Storage plant at Colorado Springs. No insurance, couldn't find anybody selling it, rented skis and boots , wearing hill walking waterproofs.. Myself and a work colleague skied the area until we ran out of energy.. American "Double Diamond Black" runs are more like French red runs.
Good question, but not sure i have a favourite! Normally, I'm just interested in covering the mountain in a week and getting the most out of it. I'm also a boarder so prefer the side piste or soft piste areas instead! If i had to choose, I'd probably say any tree lined piste with twists and turns, somewhere like The Stash in Avoriaz.
Learner's slope, Davos, 1965 ..... April 1st .... Broke a leg aged 4 1/2 Dead Man's Gully in Gielo, Norway (self explanatory) 1969 Glacier above Hintertux Austria (real "just pee in yer trousers" territory) 1970 ... Junior squad. Off piste, ie use the chairlift pylons as slalom markers, Whistler. 1998 last time I went Those are the ones that I remember most clearly at least.
