i mounted mine in a short piece of pipe I inserted before the tail pipe. Wasn’t sure if it would work there but it was fine. Easily removed afterwards. There’s some write up on my build thread. My AFR gauge thing is just a Bluetooth sender that sits near the sensor and an app on the phone. I’ve still got this sat in the garage. If someone wants to buy it let me know Or maybe I could just rent it out ?
It was funny in a 70HP diesel turbo at about 6500 ft in the Pyrenees.. being the fastest car on the road, overtaking smoky petrol cars, that car had a waste gate that opened at a fairly low pressure so it was still at 100% boost..
Not at the moment I'm afraid to say. Keeping them together with all the other parts I've collected over the years. Maybe one day when the van has to go they'll be part of the package that someone will split.
Vintage speed exhaust has 2 lamda sensor positions . On my 914 I welded a bung in Bosch wide band sensor and inovate system
Thanks for that ! Great simple idea .I might jus Thanks for replies on this .Might just get a standard tailpipe and weld something suitable up . I suppose getting this right save the expense of rolling road tuning ??Any recommendations on a good gauge? I have around £70 budget but have seen cheaper !
Too much condensation I'd guess? Same sensor in a VS which is in the actual body of the silencer has been trouble free.
Okay .Think I will get one I can use for the tuning and then remove rather than have a dash one that I am constantly monitoring.
I am happy with cash and I think it still works with lots of people .For example when I tip at a restaurant I find it way more personal to hand over cash for good service than wave a card or phone at something . It may be regarded as old fashioned and quaint as someone on this site commented on today but it still carries leverage in situations over a card or phone . So why not still use and carry cash ?
I think they're best mounted (semi) vertically, so that condensation etc doesn't get into the end of the sensor.
I don't have a problem with it either but does seem a bit odd to me that someone would not request to not have cash ? We are only talking £150 so I am sure over the next few months he could use it .
