Not a U2 fan at all, but it’s the remix. Nice bit of Duran Duran at the end too

  3. I've been a fan of U2 since around 1980 when Fire came out so the other day I gave a listen to their new album Songs of Surrender. Now when a band release an album of "our old songs re-imagined" it usually sets the alarm bells ringing, it generally means either A. we've run out of ideas or B. we can't be arsed.

And true to form, and as I feared, it's the biggest load of old carp they have ever recorded:(

I was a student at Kingston Poly in 1980, U2 played the Student Union. I think they’d only got Boy and October out then, which I actually really liked….. but I didn’t go see them :(. The Smiths played there too

missed out on that on too :(

  5. They must have toured the further education establishments in 1980 as that's when they made their one and only appearance in Northampton at Nene College:D

Shuggie Otis? Never heard of him!
People harp on about soulless Mike Oldfield being clever somehow for playing lots of instruments.
Back in 1973 so was this chap. I think this is really cool, but it got him the sack from his record company.
