  8. This is - of course - what happens 10 minutes after booking an MOT. They know...

Yup…. Mine did the same a few weeks back. Booked and the bulb out warning came on.

2 weeks prior I was trying to sell a car and the tyre warning light pops up 2 mins from the meeting place.

    They know!!

  10. He's shown no gratitude for having a shiny new windscreen fitted last week

I'll give it a scan tomorrow, but I'd bet at least one sock it's the right-hand rear wheel sensor or reluctor. The left hand one took early retirement last year.

You should have known.. if one side goes, the other isn't far off.
I really liked the Peugeot version where the rust builds up under the rear ABS sensor and lifts it up until it misses the magnet ring.. the fix was a hammer and chisel on the rust.

  14. Might get away with a new sensor, but on the Golfs a common cause is rust'n'crust building up on the reluctor ring. Bits of it may actually fall off.

Remedy is to change the whole hub assembly. Do I trust a cheap and cheerful GSF hub? We'll see...

  15. Have you ever nipped in for a bap? They're very nice, apparently.

Great day out at the NEC Classic restoration show with @mcswiggs. Some lovely vehicles and a very small stand with 3 beetles. Learnt loads about epoxy primer use and application. A few photos including one or two for @scrooge95 :)

Following a new crank, seals, bearings, rings and a whole load of additional grief after I nipped it up and then had to strip it back down again last week:rolleyes:, today was a nice day to put the first new miles on.

Several hundred will be required at half throttle opening.

    And then it rained
