The front arches were painted completely lower body colour originally. Personally I like 'em different, like this. ... because then you don't have that bit of outside colour sneaking inside at the steps.
Yepp serious job... I have a basement full of parts to fit.. Nice set of 15" fuchs to go on too. It's going to be very nice to be back in it camping, I did buy a caravan as the family was in dire need to get out camping.
maybe check out my westy resto thread it might help https://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/my-73-westfalia-continental-resto.97554/unread
Hi Clive, welcome back. Mine is/was a ’77 Helsinki, orange from the factory inside and out. When I repainted it with a white roof and upper half, I just used the cut off where it seemed right. The inside is still single colour.
Perfect! That has sparked a memory! Mine was the same so I will just get the painter to do the same, how about the where the paint line is on all door seals?
Thanks so much! I feel guilty about not being active here.. once the build starts I will carry on with my resto thread.
Flakey photos are nearly correct also for a two tone Westfalia 78 The front air intake should be the same orange color and the bumpers white. The wheel arches and underbody are also the bottom orange color. Only engine compartment is missing as photo and should have als bottom orange color. Some other photos of others are not original style...
Tailgate and slider are literally painted to the outer edge Cab doors round to the seal channel Boot lid all colour
