Hello all, It has been a really long time since I last visited the late bay, and unfortunately I am returning in not so good circumstances. I run a business, and the last couple of years we have had some significant challenges starting with covid lockdown, followed by global material costs spiralling, the cost of living crisis, and most significantly a major factory fire last year. I now find my self in a position where I need to liquidise some assets just to pay the mortgage etc. I need to sell my 1972 early-bay, but have lost touch with the scene and have no idea how much it is worth or how easy it will be to sell. Can anybody give me an idea of value, and the best place to sell it? It's rust free top to bottom, been garaged for the majority of its life, has a new pop top, custom built Airteriors interior, full width rusty lee rock and roll bed, all new upholstery by Bromsgrove Auto Trimmers. Your help is greatly appreciated in my time of need. https://ibb.co/vCWJx3X https://ibb.co/bFdkRmY https://ibb.co/6ZqXYy8 Thanks
@earlybaybob are you able to upload the photos instead of using a hosting site? ibb.co has a reputation for viruses and malware even though you are using it without for an innocent reason/use
Sorry to hear this news buddy….it’s worth mentioning that you have been to techenders in your van and the interior is really something else in terms of quality.
1. It’s an early (assuming not cross over) 2. It’s in great rust free condition 3. It’s got a lovely interior 4. It’s ready for someone to go off and have adventures without piling in loads of money on a resto. Don’t give it away.
Shouldn't be an issue... It's a lovely well presented van and will attract a buyer wanting quality. There'll be tyre kickers offering 10-15k but stick to your guns , this quality is rare .. 20k minimum Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
We got £20k for ours (tip top but no pop top) about three years ago, so that was our budget for one with a pop up and interior. I would have snapped your arm off! I'd pitch yours around £25k and take £22/23k if you're in a rush? GLWS
Got any photos of the important bits, like underneath? If it’s as good as the rest then it should be £20k all day long.
Looks fab. Great interior and full width bed - that’s a must for us nowadays that we are a bit middle aged tubby and kronky. some friends of mine paid £25k last year for a tidy Late Bay looks similar condition etc to yours.
Pah. No one buys a bus based on the underneath. The important bits are photographs of buntings. A bottle of champagne on ice with two glasses and a picture of the bus with a beach in the background. Anything else is just wasted pixels.
fantastic feedback from you all - thank you! I will be taking a lot more pics over the coming days - just posted some I have on my phone to get started.
Yes, I'd ask around £25k. It's coming into Spring, if someone wants a nice van to use straight away it must be a strong contender.
