Sort of happening now - a couple just joined our MG club in West Lancs having moved up from Dorset and bought a 5 bed house locally to us at £400k - they didn't say what they sold up for but they said they are "quids in".
Just watching ' A place in the sun' on tv....the programme where couples look at properties, put silly offers in and then end up not buying......no idea why it made me think of this thread. Has the deal been done yet?
We came up to 150k on Monday and they refused the offer. Since then the interest rates on mortgages have risen to 6% and houses for sale in that area are getting reduced in price almost on a daily basis.
The person that put a offer in on my Mums house was as the estate agent predicted and quoted "the Surrey type "
What happened para, have you brought anywhere? We move next week. What a faff. We’ve cleared loads out and also hired a 20ft container
The sellers of that house accepted a higher offer than ours but from someone in a chain. It’s still not gone through completion. With the interest rates the way they are and house prices still holding we’ve no chance really. My health is quite poor at the moment and I’ve been waiting months for an operation to fit a pacemaker/icd/cardio monitor device so we’ve decided to stay put for a while. Thankfully I’m going in for the operation on Wednesday The downside is I loose my driving license for four weeks and have to rest properly for five weeks so the wires to my heart don’t dislodge before everything has healed up. That means Mrs para can’t work for a month either. so as you can imagine life has been on hold for a while and will be for a bit to come. enjoy your new house razzy
All the best for Wednesday - triple by-pass here and my friend has had the pacemaker fitted - we are both doing great now .
Glad to hear that you’re both doing great Unfortunately my heart problems are caused by a rare genetic problem so it will constantly keep getting worse Everything they are doing with medication and the pacemaker is to try and slow down the degradation and the Icd is there to try and kick me back if the worse happens.
