I'd have been better off financially with a car, staying at pubs and eating out for every meal. Maybe one day I'll learn.

  2. No ,but I've added interior lights and 12 volt charging, also new seat covers, reversing sensors and cupboard alterations

  3. The bay had to go, probably a bad decision, but life goes on..

The T25 has filled the void but never truly replaced the smile factor of the bay..

    BOn continuance dazzer!

Plenty of t25 in France. I lost count on my recent visit. Think I saw 2/3 bays and one of those had just burnt out

  5. Any luck @Dazza ?

  6. Sorry to hear this @Dazza
Good luck with the sale of the bay.

Hope you find something suitable. There may be loads of COVID bought motorhomes up for sale soon, as other holidays are possible again

Plenty of time wasters messaging me.
One chap came to see it Sunday he was very interested but didn't want to pay what I wanted , I think I made a mistake by not adding on a grand on top of what I wanted so people think they've chipped me down ..
Someone else coming next weekend ( apparently )

  10. I love the bay but I do sometimes look at the extra space in a t25 or a t4, at least you have not sold your sole to the devil and bought a T5 with wolf race alloys 500 bhp( that’s what they think the van has) plus no no fear stickers. The T4 the gentleman’s or woman’s camper.

  11. I was chatting at the weekend when someone made a comment (an ex Bay owner) that going anywhere long distance was "like driving a sponge", I am sure you won't miss that aspect of Bay ownership, @Dazza

    Good luck with the hunt.

My T5's not 500bhp......but is 174bhp......but I still love the Bay, hence the T5 has not been converted....yet.

    NEVER!!!!

I'm with @jivedubbin - you can stand up in a our size vans, just about fit into a regular parking space. Have a decent loo (in privacy too). cooker, fridge and decent bed/s. We're looking at a newer van to convert as the Transit is constantly needing welding, sounds familier eh? Looking at the Fiat Ducato as we being vertically challenged we can put a premant bed in sideways and still have all the other bits. The new vans drive so well and get better fuel economy - as for height we already have 2.6m high van so we'll go for the H3 roof. We only had one place we couldn't get into in Ireland and I never use Maccies Drive thrus (did no one ever listen to Jo Pesci in Lethal Weapon 2?).

Other things to consider. If you go bigger than a van @Dazza can you store it on your drive, or do you use storage already? You're about my age so you shouldn't have issues with weight on your driving licence but worth checking if anything is over 3500kg If you go down the conversion route, there is a place called Barlow Boards in Brum that can cut boards using CAD so that you get the most out of sheets of wood. You also get the layout that you want with a self build. Have a gander at the upcoming Motorhome show at the NEC in October too.

Sorry for the generalised response, I work at a Vw van dealer the amount of void warranty claims on engines as people add bigger turbos and remap them , plus they (not everyone) seem to be the new Audi drive 1inch of my rear bumper flashing lights to move out of the way bully there way through. NOT EVERY ONE

Just stating a fact, not recommending it.
A T2 is great, it car sized, a good all rounder but small for camping.
Car caravan, is the winning combination. You can have just one vehicle with an engine, when you camp and want to nip to the shop or out for a day, you shut the caravan door and drive off in the car. For practicality it's a winner I'm sorry to say.

It ius all the other bits of caravanning I would not enjoy - towing, packing the thing so that weight is distributed, having to set up when you get to your destination and the big loser (for me at least) you can't really park up in some of the places that I personally do in a caravan. Being able to drive off somewhere without moving your living space is a bonus but I usually take a bike or walk to wherever I want to go or it is good to take the van on the day trip part as you have a ready made place to rest/eat etc. a bit more practical than a car.

So this isn’t about Dazza selling a Pixar DVD about a grumpy widower with a house tied to a load of floating balloons? I feel cheated to be honest :(
