So after looking through the various threads I’m still not sure what the quick and easy solution is and where I can buy it. I have removed the metal roof panels and there was glass fibre in clear plastic. I don’t want to put it back as it is aged and causes major itching if bits drop down. Is there a consensus on the product to replace this above the engine?
I used 35mm aluminium faced self adhesive neoprene foam. Aluminium face down, stuck to ceiling above perforated panels. 2 metres did enough for the engine bay and under the rear seat and inside the tailgate. Noticeably quieter.
Is there somewhere you recommend to buy this from? Does Amazon have this type of thing? Could you post a link just so I am 100% sure what I’m getting? thanks
I have used sheets of Dynamat in the engine bay and the coarse fibre auto sound deadening mat under the carpet on the load bay floor and the spare wheel well inside the van. It helped significantly. BTW, i only used Dynamat as my nephew (who is a car sound system modifying nutter) had a load of it as he bought too much. It is expensive stuff.
This is a great place to get gold of the carpet under felt if you live in the north West. UK classic car carpets, car covers, van lining material and trim.
