Have just moved up to Sheffield from London, does anyone know of a good bodyshop/spraypainter in the local area ? Thanks.
@paulcalf or @Merlin Cat may be able to help - They`re from Sheff ... Might have trouble contacting @Merlin Cat as she seems to have `retired` and become a boaty A wise move by the way ....
I think I’ve semi retired @Lasty There is John Bees on Abbeydale Rd. They do classic cars etc but not cheap. I shall ask the local mechanic to see if he has any recommendations @Brian B
Thanks Merlin Cat, am looking for a reasonable (ish) price but at the same time want a good job. If you have any more suggestions please do let me know, it doesn't have to be in Sheffield itself. Brian.
I used Norwood Motor Company....at Norwood which is near Killamarsh. I'm very pleased with the results, they do insurance/repairs as well as spraying. Give them a call / have a look ont Web. www.norwoodmotorcompany.co.uk
Welcome to Sheffield. Im sure you will have a great time up here. Sorry i have no direct experience of bodyshop shop/paint in Sheffield. Lots of people in the local club use Ken Fox/Kennedy Fox who may be based in Rotherham. I dont have his contact details, if you cant find them online hit me up and ill get thsm for you
I heard recently that Ken may have retired but still does some jobs occasionally...may be wrong as my contact was not really sure.
+1 for Ken Fox. Works from his home near Wickersley. Passionate about V Dubs. Did some work on ours a few years ago & i was very happy with the results. Reasonable cost also compared to some bodyshops. I had tried John Bees but they wanted an arm and a leg, You find a lot of places just don’t want the job and will only do modern day stuff. I can PM you Ken’s number if you like, he did some work on a friends T2 about a year ago but he did have a fair waiting list.
Ken Fox is very good at what he does, but be prepared to wait .... I'm just waiting to finalise a date for some work doing on mine .... we discussed and agreed a price just before Christmas.
Welcome to Sheffield Brian I don't have any recent personal experience of bodyshops around here - not ones I'd recommend anyway! I do my own work these days, and the alloys I had painted locally weren't very good. Others have mentioned the usual places. I'll ask some pals in the motor trade who they use; the top man used to be someone out near Hull I think.
Thanks everyone for your replies, if anyone else comes to mind I would be grateful. Ken Fox sounds like a good recommendation but may want to get some work done sooner rather than later. Brian.
My pal who builds high end historic race and rally cars always uses CSG Bodyshop in Chesterfield; his cars are always absolutely mint.
