If it’s not one thing it’s another, sorted carb issue sweet !!! No my gauge has decided it won’t work when I turn the ignition it twitches ever so slightly but won’t engage or go up when I know I have half a tank in there, any suggestions ? Thanks guys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Always the last place you had your hands Sender wire? Or earth (less likely) Did you have the tank out?
when mine went it was an earth behind the dash. I was gonna cut an access hatch in the decklid to get to the sender - i`ve bought the hatch just not had to use it thankfully!
The heating of the hot wire and its expansion amplified by levers is a lot slower moving than the moving coil type magnetically operated mechanism of the older gauge. The hot wire reading is steady because the mechanism is really slow moving . The post 73 changes are definitely cost-down, not necessarily worse performing as the design is clever..
So I took the pod out to take a look and with a wiggle of the gauge wire it would send the gauge to full, let Go and back to the bottom ? Is that an earth then ???? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Is your tank full... otherwise you may have an open circuit sender and wiggling wires vigourously is causing a short. Disconnect the fuel gauge sender wire and measure its resistance to chassis. Should be between about 10 and 70 ohms. If its higher resistance you need to check the sender ..
