With a heavy heart I am selling Heidi, my VW T2 late bay, for £14,000 I bought the van 2 years ago from a couple who had lovingly fitted out the interior after the previous owner had used it as a bus for 37 years. All owners, including myself, have stored the van inside which is reflected in the condition of the bodywork considering its age. It is a right-hand drive and has a 1.6 4 gear manual petrol engine with low milage for its age. The engine was replaced at 55,000 miles by the first owner. The milage on the dashboard is 18,363 miles. The previous owner stripped out the interior in 2017, and re-built it into a fully functioning, camping ready van. There are some small areas of surface rust which is to be expected after 43 years. There are 2 small holes on the bottom of each of the doors and some surface spots on the roof rails, but nothing structural. All other areas have been treated with rust converter. The chassis is solid, and the undercarriage was treated with under seal in 2020. The front axel shaft was replaced in 2018, and the whole brake system was replaced 3 years ago with more work having been done on the brakes this summer along with a new alternator, battery, and spark plugs. The full exhaust system was replaced in 2020 along with various other bits to the engine- a full record of work carried out during my ownership will be provided. 2 switches have been installed below the dashboard, 1 for the 12v socket and 1 for the radio/mp3/USB/aux to make sure you don’t drain the battery when parked up for a while. There are 2 standard speakers in the front and rear. It is fitted with a leisure battery system that is charged when driving, this also has an isolator switch fitted for when it’s not in use. It powers the 4 LED lights, fridge, water tap and USB points. You can also hook up with the 240v cable on a campsite or from any socket, it comes with all the cables. The kitchen has a cutlery drawer and storage for pots and pans, water tanks and gas cannister. The counter is large with an area for prep, a sink, and a 3-pit gas cooker. Below it is a 48L 12v/240v motorhome fridge with a recess under the counter for books, games, and laptops etc. There is plenty of storage space under the bench seat for bedding, toiletries, and spare parts. Above the bench there is a storage cupboard for food supplies etc. The bench flips out to form a double bed, with a control panel for lighting and charging electrics to the side. The roof pops up from the inside and is the original red and white stripes with no leaks. I also have the original hammock poles and fabric, can be used for storage or to sleep small humans/pets. Because she is over 40 years old, she is exempt from MOT and road tax. It is around £350 a year for insurance and breakdown cover. She comes with all paperwork from me and the previous owners. Heidi can be taken on trips straight away but also offers the option to be completely converted for someone looking for a project. All the components are there to make it your own. I will consider offers of £14,000 ONO. Extras- Outlaw drive away awning Full van rain cover Flip out picnic bench Spare wheel on front bracket with wheel cover Front roof rack Spare parts, original manual, memorabilia, and parts catalogue Seat belt extensions to the rear seats Fridge 2 hob gas burner and gas supply Sink and fresh water and grey water tanks
