WANTED VW T2 Bay

Home (vwaircooledworks.co.uk) has a good reputation i believe.

 

The later you go the more safety features you find, like dual circuit/disks /servo brakes, fuel tank behind a firewall, impact beams behind the bumpers, Y section chassis, more powerful engine etc. any t2 is less safe than a modern car, but if you had to choose one to have an accident in, then the late bay is better than an early or a split screen.

I like to mix it up a bit and swap around. Also based on if its level or not. Head down hill results in a banging headache lol!. I'm with you on brewing up from the comfort of your bed! having had the spare inside for years it got put outside and the spare wheel well used for spares and tools. Lovely posting by the OP and good luck with your search. Tin tops look lovely btw but no good with even the slightest hint of a dodgy back!

 

I'm not one to ask about garages really as I did all the work myself. I believe Air Cooled Works are good but they aren't cheap?
There's a guy in Boothby Pagnell with a couple of T2s as well.

Thanks @Mark Darby, I'll take a look and see if I can find the Boothby Pagnell one. To be honest we're happy to pay for good work from a reputable garage, the more hassle free motoring the better!

And, and, and - the silly poopers slow to 25mph to pass a speed camera in a 40mph limit - they really don't have a clue what the limit is anywhere. If it's on a dual carriageway as it often is I whizz past them at exactly 40mph to rub it in - another win for paying attention.

@Dicky and @zedders if your head is near the driving area where does the porta potty go ? I had planned to curtain/screen that area off to use for 'bathroom breaks' during the night to avoid trips outside!

 

No excreting in the van please! Have you been in one? They are tiny!
