My old arc welder SIP 100 must be nigh on 45 years old, its falling to pieces and as i have a little stainless exhaust welding to do , and as the Amazon sale weekend is on , thought i might treat myself to a CHEAPISH , just get the job done no bells and whistles arc welder. Anyone got such a machine they could recommend or any advise on what to look for , ?
I bought an older version of this for £199, I'm sure it'll get rubished but I've had it a couple of years and done oF heavy MMA work with it as well as MIG. I do horseshoe art which uses heavy wire and high current https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-in-1-M...rter-Welder-/174199718486?hash=item288f1cc256
I bought this one and was very impressed by the ease of use. https://www.bc-elec.com/fr/poste-a-...-arc-200-inverter-2-connecteurs-rapides-47949 But don't expect it to last long. Front panel and knobs are very cheap hard plastic. But it works well.
You'll do well to stick weld a stainless exhaust. Maybe there's someone with TIG and some pure argon nearby who would do it for a drink?
i have searched local and no one is interested, ive been to my local welding suply store in hope they knew someone but i drew a blank there, even a family members sandblasting machine factory has noone that could/would do it. A local boy racer garage could do it for £350 in about five weeks time? clearly didnt want the job i am actually trying to weld a stainless replacement flexible joint ont the catalitic converter of my car, its quite solid / thick metal and apparently a common repair, £32 pound part instead of £1000 replacement ive nowt to loose but try myself and end up with a bit of kit in with the process https://www.amazon.co.uk/ARC-Welder...r-MINI-180PI/dp/B07VP48ZSY/ref=cm_wl_huc_item somethink like this but just read one of their many thundreds of five star reviews and one says they give you a rebate for a five star review,?
I am in England, the issues with importing stuff here after Brexit means its not worth the hassle of buying from abroad, just what the politicians wanted.
If it's a cheap stick welder then this will do. It's the same brand as mine. Much better off TIG welding stainless though as it's more controllable. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272315200275?hash=item3f67403313:g:fNIAAOSw3X5gzOJ4
Been looking at their website, looks like decent uk product the Pro 175 moder looks a decent buy with potential to upgrage to TIG welding , as if i know what i am on about , thinking of looking to see what deal amazon have on them on Sunday , if any deal at all , but narrowing things down a little now
Yep, I recently bought the Rtech 185, and can’t fault it for MIG. I haven’t tried the Arc function though, so can’t comment on that.
just shopping around to see that amazon dont sell that model , ebay has it but strangly the guarantee reduces from three years to two years but the unit costs the same, why does buying things have to be such a mine field .
