Been today with the lad for his 21st birthday treat. Great little museum and friendly staff. Did the Dads drive in 850 mini mk1 ,Hillman Imp and a 1600 Capri. I was supposed to be reliving my youth and driving the Imp, but after 5mins I got out and " kindly " let the lad drive. Let's just say that if I were to give them feedback, they need to employ a mechanic to keep the vehicles up to scratch. I may have been expecting too much, but could only find 1st and 2nd in the Imp, which was a good thing as the brakes were non existent. The Capri the clutch was shot or needed adjustment and the throttle pedal was floppy. Spoit an otherwise great day out. Sent from my SM-A217F using Tapatalk
The cars of yesteryears were rubbish compared to modern stuff, but we used to do 12 hrs journeys to Gt Yarmouth every year and just occasionally the fuel pump would need a gentle tap or me might stop for " a bit of a break" .. but the basics worked fine... these were in need of general maintenance. Perhaps different drivers ever 20 mins for a month or so has taken it's toll.
