Anyone know where I can pick some of these up. The wheels are 90s Empi copies by Midland Wheels or whatever.
It’s the deep ones I want to be honest. Looks like a bit of a refurb might be the way forward but a couple are well trashed. Dont mind used looking matches the rest of the bus but not sure I wanna pay best part of 50 squid plus post for them. I’ve made a cheeky offer on ebay.
Silver spray paint can caps? They come with free paint to repaint your chipped wheels. OK, they probably wouldn't fit but wouldn't it be handy if they did? One can/wheel, whack the cap on. Job jobbed.
My van had fab centre caps when I look back at original for sale photos. Annoyingly the vendor took them and the original number plate prior to sale and I didn’t realise they had ever been there until yonks after when I found an old advert
Ref above I used some fantastic one coat straight onto aluminium metallic paint from Rustoleum on my boat windows two years ago, still looking great. Comes in varieties of colour, got mine from screwfix. The only one coat paint I've ever seen for ali/alloy. When I had to rub a piece back I found that somehow, the 3 coats at 10 min intervals had tidied themselves into grey primer on the metal, gold paint with the glitter then clear lacquer on top. Magic at work! Knackered anodising - there is no solution other than paint or re-anodise. New windows are as cheap as re-anodising. Not too scabby - about £3 per window for the paint.
Zed, the gold window in your top picture, I think I have 5 brand new ones of them in me workshop, are they worth anything??
I have the same wheels. Mine came with the deep caps but I always preferred the look of the lower profile style; could never understand why a lot of sellers used to say you needed the deep ones to clear the axle nut etc. If I ever find something I like the look of you can have first dibs on my old ones
Probably not much unfortunately - it's finding a buyer, they'll be the "wrong size" in 999/1000 cases?
Keep an eye out for couriers delivering to the houses opposite, that's what I did. Took a couple of weeks but I got a full set.
I think they are 3 foot wide 2 foot high, I didnt know what they were off, I was going to make some cloches for the garden with them, thought they would be good new age traveller stylee van windows
I guess if you were starting from scratch you would buy windows before you cut the holes. Ebay might be a good place to value but IIRC about £200 buys a new one (if you were buying 5).
Well paint aerosol cps are too small. Pepsi can would actually fit with a dab of silicon but they are flimsy. Old school thick cans would have been Bob on!
