I was watering parts of the garden this time last year, but nowt like that yet. We had 3 or 4 inches of snow a fortnight ago, so that helped.
Gorse is doing really well here in Cornwall - apart from the stuff that’s been caught in the massive wildfires! It’s pretty spectacular this year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well we have had some pretty harsh late frost up here.. though it looks like it is doing ok maybe as some have said we have had little rain also. Whereas down with you it’s looking more lush and fresh , so perhaps it is frost or lack of rain related
We've has no rain for nearly 6 weeks. I think the stuff by the coast must be doing the best because even though is colder it's fairly consistent. The inland moorland is so dry there's been huge gorse fires - Bodmin, Redruth and Lizard. Is being fanned by really strong winds. Apparently there's gorse in flower somewhere in the UK every single day of the year
This was my general feeling , I must say that you are right in saying that it isn’t as vibrant as it normally is, However the gorse pictures nik posted are more like what I expected it to be like here in the new forest at this time of year
You would thinks so but it does keep coming back. Even 2019/20 bushfires haven't totally eradicated it.
I think the burning back can revitalize the gorse and the potash gives it a bit of feed to help it on . Probably better off than having re grow through a load of dead fibre .
