Id go for a Mk 1 but for that price, it’s one for the boys I reckon.

  5. He said it didn't he? It's an..."analogue car", not a computer on wheels!!! That's the point isn't it? It's about the driver and the driving experience, it doesn't have to do 150mph, it's about the experience. It's the reason I my love these old fast cars, and they can be fast enough, but it's the about driver and the car. Perhaps not even a servo, between you and the road. What fun!

PS the electric power steering on that mk2 , does it need it? I would have thought it would detract from the experience, but there you go.

Old school drive with a modern punchline, what more could you want! A car to be driven properly and driven well, the driver in command.
I thin’ they’re great and really do hope they go well in selling them!

I agree with what you say on old fast cars great fun, I had a Sunbeam Lotus replica years back with a Ti spec motor, that was great, handled well and could keep up with XR3’s etc.

I have a Hyundai i30N for my daily drive, that is one great car but computer takes me to work and back, cruise control, lane assist, five drive modes, I just sit behind the wheel

Too long for me. my mate had a mk2 1.6 I think. We drove to Leeds for the weekend to see a friend of a friend for a party. We slept in it. That’s what they are good for - reclining the seats and getting a nap in :)

    Any news @CollyP?
Has your cousin been beavering away on the RS2000?
A car barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability. Better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster. The world’s first bionic..... sorry, got a little carried away there, I’ve obviously been watching too much UK Gold....
Anyhow, where was I? Oh yes. Any updates?

Am I going (more) senile? I could’ve sworn there was a cousin involved. Or was it that it was heading to Devon, and I just thought that I have cousins there? Or that everyone is cousins there? Nuuurse.....

@crossy2112 after owning 7 Capris and no Escorts I have come to the conclusion that there was a reason for it. - that being Capris are better :)

@CollyP we used to go clubbing in Blackpool when I was a student at Crewe and Alsager and too poor to pay for accommodation. Good news is we didn’t need to as a with the back seats down and front reclined can sleep up to 4 people!!!

Anyway, to be fair, I’d have thought it’s ability to provide somewhere to sleep would have won you over ;)

There is a cousin involved, but he is chief egger-on and facilitator. He will NOT be working on it :)

And it’s Cornwall, and yes you probably are!

Sleep is good; being able to see over the bonnet is better. I can only imagine you driving a Capri with help, like in a cartoon / film. someone presses the pedals and you steer :)
