  12. I don’t think anyone should get a knighthood for doing their job. Knighthoods should be for people who go above and beyond for the betterment of others.

    Weren't knighthoods originally bestowed upon those who did great and brave service to king, queen and country? Remembering that knighthoods are generally earned but aren't necessarily for life. People like Fred Goodwin, Jimmy Savile and Walter Raleigh all fell foul of the system at some stage.
