One of the most un informative car shows on TV... and even @Barry Haynes has more charisma than the main guy in the workshop.

I generally think all car shows are sh*t.
Never seen this one before, just thought folk may be interested.
    Feel free to ignore it.

I watched them all, because I like classics and work on electric cars, but it was hard work.

I saw it was series 1 episode 1 and guessed it was new.

Bangers and Cash is good, as are the American Kindig Kustoms, Diesel Brothers and Real Steel

And Car SOS - apart from the weird thing they do at the end with the Keyring.

I was just hoping for more info ...which wasn't forthcoming....watched a few before the guy with short dark hair bored me to death!

It's worth watching the old Fiat 500 episode just for the laugh...a range just enough to get the middle class lady, who runs every decision through her 10 year old son, to Harrods once a week.

I’ve watched them all, but they lack any real zest. I guess the problem is electric motors are pretty straight forward and it’s a basic swap over electric motor for greasy noisy troublesome smelly engine. One show in detail would be enough

I did laugh as he put the motor in and then started counting the mounting bolts!!!
    There were only 4 :D

    The scenario

    Customer brings in classic car

    They remove engine

Source conversion plate fit motor to it sweat on centre bearing and slide onto gearbox.

    Fit batteries and cables

Make the rest of the show about where to fit charging point discreetly and take for test drive waxing lyrically about the new smooth electric motor that you don’t really need to change gear in.

    Cue credits

All petrol cars are hybrid. I have done 10 metres in the bus on the starter motor once, and on another occasion even had to slip the clutch with the starter motor to get it off an uphill approach to a roundabout.
Its a lot easier than trying to push the bus.

I remember doing similar so that I could get my old 72 to the crest of the hill near my house so I could get it to roll down the hill to bump start it

I think this has been one of the better and slightly more informative car shows. I doubt they’d give away all of the secrets... they’ve done a lot of the hard yards figuring out the conversions and it’d be silly to give the IP away!!

the first couple of episodes are variations on a theme with the KG and the Fiat 500 (hint, no room for batteries) but they then do a Range Rover with a Tesla motor mounted in an interesting fashion, a BSA style motor bike and something else... red and Italian I think.

look up moggy’s 1303 on you tube, it’s absolutely insane!!

  20. Bangers & cash is deffo more watchable. Real people not actors. I have passed through Thornton le Dale so many times in the past & never really noticed the place until I saw it on TV. Will be popping in next time I’m in the area
