Who's is the green '71? I'm particularly interested as to which green that is, if it's a standard VW colour (Velvet, Elm, etc) or something else. I'm thinking ahead to maybe redoing my bus next year.

Thanks. It does look nice. Shame I wasn't able to make it otherwise I would have been tempted to park next to it :)

It makes sense. Mine is supposed to be Velvet (L512) according to the PO and even though photos have to be taken with a grain of salt, they do look a bit different.

... and you missed the complete lack of drama with the heater cables as well :p

Yeah sorry about that, was suspected covid so had to ditch. Have you made any progress on them?

If it hadn't been for a need to snip the welded on "plug" (?) at the back end they'd be up and running.
Being longer plugs than the originals there was no way to adjust them up.
    IMG_20200911_153651939.jpg
There wasn't enough room underneath at TE to hacksaw or get purchase with snips.
Before TE I used Plusgas down between the cables and the sleeves, and between the sleeves and the conduits, left for a few days ... then an ANTIclockwise drill on the back end of the cables.
Pulled them through to the front leaving "string" in the conduits for the drive up and did all the fiddly replacing of end caps and grommets etc as the new ones went in ....
(Got off to a slow start thanks to the PO having replaced the levers in the wrong order  )

It looks to me that that cable is a little too long.
Well, almost there. Have been trying WD40 myself but I admit I think Plusgas is better for this kind of thing. My outer cable spiralled from the front and snapped somewhere inside where it must have rust-welded itself to the tube. I'll try anti-clockwise in a drill from the rear as you did.
