Never noticed that, just searched by their name!
Search for "Birdie Camper Van Photo Booth" on faceache.

Yes, some pretty polarised opinions there I think it’s fair to say :D

  5. Interesting Facebook post, I think it might be doing more harm than good.

I notice there is a report button on the crowdfunder page, Imagine if a load of people reported the fraud.

I’ve just looked on their fb page. If it was a scam they should know that in the age of Social Media there’s nowhere to hide! Also they didn’t reckon on @Baysearcher Poirot and the other detectives! It’s quite interesting to see the research folk have done, Claire Hargreaves has done some good sleuthing!

It just seems the whole thing was poorly thought out to end up in that situation, followed by a hasty and emotional response starting a fundraising page while in shock which was ‘somewhat misleading’!

It’s all a bit beyond me how someone could get themselves into that position in the first place, but I was on a beach a while back and a couple of passers by said they were scoping it out for a film set and seemed completely unaware of the tides, which cover the whole area they were planning on using.

The phrase 'when in a hole, stop digging' springs to mind...

I have an app on my phone called ‘My Tide Times’.
Helps prevent that sinking feeling when you realise you’re about to be cut off by the tide.
It’s what I recommended the film makers used to plan their shoot.

Paint me cynical, but smells of deliberate intention to give the "shell" a soaking to get the sympathy cash flowing in

  15. I just looked at some of the Facebook page remarks,
It seems people who think it’s a con or a scam
    Are heartless and hateful
    Blimey
    That’s me then :D

I don't care if I've been scammed because it's such a cute & pretty pink camper and they are such nice people

  17. I certainly wouldn’t suggest that. It would be absolutely wrong to think that it was deliberate.

Good insurance payout on a nearly new T6 and trailer, tho’, so that’s some compensation for all the trauma.

Still at least they’ve got the other running van, with an MOT.

Trying to claim off insurance will be an interesting experience I reckon!

  19. Yes, and I hope they paid extra for "hire and reward" use, since this appears to have been commercially motivated.
