  1. Decided to change from an older style relay for my leisure battery and fitted a Sterling Power B2B today (wiring still to be tidied up, it won’t be left loose as it is).

  2. I broke my arm in 1990 and got bored with no driving or surfing so cut the plaster cast section over the palm of my hand so I could drive my van and go surfing (plastic bag taped around my arm). I had a Peppermint Green T2, so no surprise really that my foreman at the Electricity Board spotted me getting onto the M4 heading to the Gower......

Top tip after a gruelling resto @martinvention . Make sure your cab doors are shut properly for photos, other restorers will be checking out your door fit. ;)

  10. Here's a question for you! my wipers only work in the furtherst forward setting - assuming the lever nearest seat is off, and then slow, then fast. Any ideas why the slow setting does not work? not looked at any wiring in the cab, other than to spot the original fuse box!

Rigged up a cheap Aldi smart charger, so I can continue my holiday after charging system failed... drained leisure battery and no fridge.
Will get myself a Ctek 5 to replace the old box of tricks that has failed, as I have to reset the Aldi charger every time I hook up.....and I'm bound to forget at some point.

  13. Thanks Zedders, not sure if its the fat new seals or if I need to adjust further or perhaps I had better be more cautious about the angle I take photos from?? Yours look neater and nice wheels.
To answer James, checked out car park/lunch stops West Bexington nice concrete park direct on beach 60p/hr free after 6PM, Burton Bradstock big NT park gravel close to beach some level bays, grass on hill with level bit near top, West Bay nice roadside bays in west end cul de sac but very busy and did not stay long.

  15. I think there are 3 brushes; 1 to earth and 2 for windings, so the slow winding brush possibly worn. Mine was hesitant after being idle for years but now works well after some exercising. I imagine its a swine to remove with all other fittings in place!

  16. I admire you for getting out of West Bexington, I'd have to do three laps of the car park for a run up

  17. Thanks Paul, I am reassured that Lottie is not the only one, first gear most of the way.

  18. Put the engine and gearbox back in. Complete with new rear coupler
    New flywheel seal
    New gearbox mounts
    New clucth cable conduit
    That kinda stuff

Reinstalled the pertronix electronic ignition having carried it around in the glovebox for 18 months after swapping out the dodgy dizzy for @snotty’s rebuilt one.

  20. That’s why I’ve got a Victron charger for the camper, didn’t want to have to keep resetting my Aldi one each time.
