My camper has a fairly basic, but fully functional, zig controller - three switches, which can run off the starter or leisure battery AUX - does the fridge LIGHTS - currently does 3 LED lights, a cigarette lighter socket and a USB socket PUMP - supplies the sink Each has a 10A fuse So it's the LIGHT circuit that I'm interested in, as it's a bit congested where it all knits together in the wardrobe, and wondered if a small blade fusebox would be a neat idea, so that although they are all running from a 10A fuse on the Zig, they could be individually isolated and fused. What do you think? A good way to neaten up the small amount of spagetti, and make things safer? For example? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-Way-Bl...103387?hash=item46b23dc55b:g:nk0AAOSwagxfIST3 Thanks. Edit: presumably the cigarette lighter socket, although it can handle high ampage by design, would draw whatever I plug into it? Dumb question! I installed it to run a fan in the hot weather.
That's a great solution. I have something similar but without the -ve bus bar - that's as good as it gets really Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
That's a bit like the one I put in to replace a spider's web of trailing wires each with an in-line fuse. Much neater and easier to trace wires especially with the LEDs to see which ones are working. .
Go for it. Cigarette lighter might try to draw 10A if you plug in a kettle or a heater. But if you fuse it lower it will just blow the fuse if you go over your chosen limit.. at the same time phone chargers will be no problem.
8A on the ciggy socket would be about right, I have seen them melt the plug at the pin if you draw much more
Or maybe something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-Gang-1...=1842087809502895fd78054b44009b062d7ca8435f46
I think if I were starting from scratch, definitely something like that, which would keep everything in one place..... but I have a decent controller with the Zig, and the holes for the usb and cig lighter socket are already cut in the headbanger locker. I’m just after tidying up what I’ve got.... but certainly if I were at square one that would be a good start
Great in theory but the wiring behind wouldn't be as tidy or simple- I likes simple ... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
