Hello LateBay members! I recently purchased a late 74 Westy and am in the process of restoration. This is my second aircooled that I am restoring, the first being a 73 squareback. I'll post pictures when I get a little farther along with the resto. I'm on this forum because, believe it or not, some 72-74 Westy parts are hard to come by used in the states and information on things like retrofitting and wiring are hard to come by out here in LA. It seems like most folks send their Westy's and tin tops out to get them restored and don't have great information all the time or dont want to take the time to help. Cheers to all of you fellow Bay Window fans!
Welcome. We are a bit friendlier than some on a well known stateside forum. But we’re also a bit mad. You’ve been formally warned
Hi lA from London. went to hunting beach actually most of the beaches last year really loved it! cant wait to go again hopefully with work
Hello and welcome from further south than London, but not quite as far as the sea. Any photos will be eagerly awaited
Hi welcome from Essex England. Have just sold my 75 tin top which came from Long Beach 9 years ago. Good luck with resto. I expect you know of two web sites in USA ie www.thesamba.com and www.ratwells.com. There are a few resto books on ebay but I would expect you could rewrite them from experience. Plenty of advice on here.
Do you mean Huntington Beach....home of GT BMX and thus Mecca for anyone in to BMX in the 80’s?* *apart from those rich enough to afford Hutch or in to trick so rode Haro’s.
Sorry, wasn’t having a crack at spelling, there might be a hunting beach for all I know....there was a good will with that name, why not a beach?!
Hello and Welcome from The Colonial Contingent. L.A. just near my favourite music shop in Santa Monica.
Hi from a sweaty Southern England. Probably currently as hot as California... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
