In the never-ending round of trying to get out for a drive...it's started whistling at me now... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Hope its that. Dont really want to drop it to tighten heads ...Ill have a go at that tomorrow. just putting a stock gearstick back In now..don't like the Scat ine too low.. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Something is definitely not tight enough. Could be tinware or engine mountings. Maybe heat exchanger piping. Rev it up and see if the squeal goes.!!
Either goes or drowned out by the thunderous roar of the VS exhaust . ...but comes back.. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Doesn't sound internal as it would rise and drop. Loose tinware hopefully. Try tightening the piece underneath attached to the heat exchanger.
If you have removed the engine recently did you lightly grease the pilot bearing at the flywheel end. If not this can squeal especially if you have replaced a gear box.
I have and it had a drop of oil , but the noise is definitely around 3/4 side., thought it migh be carb but is sounds more like just under.. hoping its loose manifols/ tin.. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
It seems to be quite normal for newly fitted inlet manifolds to need a retorque just the once. This happens to me almost every time.
That would be good.. quick post break in service then Saturday... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
I used 11mm M8 nuts on the manifold to make it easier to get the clearance needed for a socket for installation without removing the engine. You would think CB performance would actually try to fit their product and realise it needs a bit of work. Love to find out your chirping noise.
I have different manifolds, CSP. They're shorter but no problem using full size nuts on the middle 2. The outer ones are long bolts with allen heads.
Quick closing update, in case anyone finds it in a search.. Took off the manifolds cleaned them up reduced the 'footprint' a bit closer to the size of a standard gasket..as they're cheap ones and a fair bit of spare which might be catching. Took a bit off everywhere around access to bolt heads and makes fitting much easier too Fitted the thicker EMPI fibre gaskets dry in place of the thinner paper ones with a bit of sealant on. Fitted back together and chirping gone.. or budgie dead.. Cheers for suggestions.. at least it's not heads... yet... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
