Only went to Leeds Elland road once - to watch Liverpool of course back in '66. We were near the front of one of the goal end stands with a load of Leeds fans behind us. They started chucking coins down at us. After we had pocketed the coins, someone yelled " charge", and we all ran up to the top of the stand , displacing said Leeds fans.
It was called New Footy when I was a kid - a neighbour of ours invented it with his dad and sold out the copyright.
@Barry Haynes , it wasn`t a one way street , makes for a harrowing tale ... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52416192 On a sad note - wouldn`t happen today as real men don`t play football anymore
I went to crystal palace away, QPR away Watford in the Semi and both the Wembley final and old Trafford replay
I've been to a few games at Watford and Peterborough when Leeds were playing, terrible neanderthal fans I'm afraid. Normally at both grounds it's a friendly experience but when Leeds come the town is deserted, shops boarded up, police on horseback everywhere. Last time I saw them at Peterborough 6/7 years ago a load of them infiltrated the family stand and when Peterborough scored they ran through the stand trampling on kids in an attempt to get to the away end. Absolute knuckle draggers I grew up watching football on the terraces in the 70's and it's just like going back in time. Hope they go straight back down and don't stop until the Conference, not welcome in my town!
