6 rib is the newer 091 gearbox fitted from model year 76 to 1.6l & 2.ol engines and T25's, reverse light switch on the side, up till then it was the 002 gearbox reverse light switch on the end.
1700 type-4 + it's original 3-rib box is a great combo, but requires thrashing up the revs to where the power is. I loved mine. The stock exhaust system also seems more balanced with it than the bigger engines are but that's just impression, I have no proof.
Can anyone Id this gearbox for me? found it in my Dad's garage when clearing out - think it might be a T25? Could be a synchro? Cheers
That's a syncro front diff, @theBusmonkey may well be interested in it Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
can you find out the serial number on it please amd can you do a picture of the other side too please
Here's the other one I have - possibly also a T25 synchro? Poor phots I know but it is up on a shelf and I can't get it down on my own!
all i can say is that its a diesel bellhousing so probably a diesel box, would need to see a picture of the other end of it to see if it is a syncro box, but if its with that front diff then it is very possible
