    Iff you
If you want a CD size piece of plastic, take your mate's Classic Bananarama CD , flex the disc with the label side out, until the two edges are a bit over 90 degrees to each other .The aluminium and lacquer flake off. Like POR-15 .

If you bend it until the two sides touch theres a chance it explodes firing pointy bits of ABS ...

I think the hole in a cd is a little on the large side for accuracy?

    You think so?

To what level of accuracy am I measuring? I'd have thought I could get within 0.1 to 0.2cc - given I'm using a medical syringe

  4. Went for a spin - to ensure i hadn't cocked anything up.
Fuelled up to test gauge was still working.
Refitted kick panels, fire extinguisher and fire boy gauge.

Cleaned 45+ years worth of grime off the heater levers, by hand then dishwasher & refitted.

It's the miniscus. Probably not make too much difference tbh.

Bet no one’s done this before, or should I say had to ‘retort’ to this!

Desperate to solve the mass oil leak and oil spray into the engine. So was on the look out for an 7.9mm bar to plug my Redundant T25 dipstick hole. I retorted to this.

Don’t worry it isn’t the permanent fix and it can’t fall further into the engine.

Anyway result no oil spray and engine dry as a bone. So this is the culprit, got some good ideas from you for s
    a permanent fix:thumbsup:

That will be handy for further experiments in the engine bay. :)

That will make a really good holder for an engine bay work light. I would leave it...

Or just clamp a completely random light sabre in there.

Actually, having looked at the specs (new AMC heads) I'll just be confirming that they are 55cc. That should make my life a little easier

Went out with a piece of stainless tube and two new Jubilee clips to extend the fuel tank filler rubber elbow.

Pulled the rubber hose off inside the paint tin lid.
Noticed it now overlapped 2cm while sitting there.
Pushed it back on with a new Jubilee clip increased the amount of hose pushed on. Tightened up the clamp.

There is also now a cable tie pulling the metal elbow coming down towards the breather pipe, preventing movement.
    Job done without hacking.

Are you simply saying you fitted the filler hose properly this time after finding there was nothing wrong with it?

I left my oil catching bowl under the bus then went shopping. It had disappeared by the time I got back c/w 1/2l of oil. Who would nick such a thing? Maybe someone binned it. Only used it twice, it had a pouring spout and everything, I spoiled myself with a proper one for once and now it's gone. :(

  15. Amazing what people will nick.

Someone on a campsite tried nicking my wheel chocks, when we went out for the day.

  16. It’s not blown somewhere by chance?

Mystery solved. It was spotted squashed flat and chucked in the skip.

Attempting a spray job. Several wing mirror knocks and some nasty rust was starting. I acted on it late, so more than a stone chip type fill.
