Brake won’t bleed

  3. I had this happen once, went all round the houses like you did.

    In the end I traced it to the wheel cylinder seal, while not letting fluid out it was pulling a tiny bit of air back in when the brake came off.

    I'm going to dispute that you won't damage the brass adjuster stars with a hammer and screwdriver. They bend then snap off, I've done it. :D

    Another way of helping drums off is to reach past the adjuster stars with a metal rod and then use it with a hammer to drive the drum off.

  13. Took the hard line out the back of the drum and fluid comes out,put it back on and tried to bleed again,had a tiny spurt of dirty fluid then nothing. I guess it’s the wheel cylinder

  16. Very, if you can see the bleed nipple on the backing plate you can see the mounting bolt just below it.
