Wanted to finish the garage floor today, but as soon as I opened the door it filled up with wind blown leaves and grass, so mission aborted until tomorrow.

Tidied it up after fitting the solar panels.
Moved the Epever Tracer to the rear of the sink unit as it overheated and tripped out the other day while it was being wafted with hot air from the battery charger beside it. I think it hit about 50 degrees C with the sun shining on it on Thursday.

Then drove the bus to the allotment to water the allotment. As although it kept raining it was so windy it dried out in minutes.

  8. A big fat nothing.....
Her who knows best decided to order a load of sand cement and building blocks as she wants a new patio....flags arrive next week apparently.....

  10. No and no ;)

The best way splitting the battery supply as per previous post is to have another battery cable crimped up that also brings out an auxiliary (smaller) lead that you can use for other things. I've got by by bolting an extra cable on the side of the existing battery clamp. Bit bodgy, but works.

Saw the clamps you'd bought - I'd make sure that the thick 25mm2 cable that feeds the starter clamps up properly. Only seems to be a single screw. Would likely be ok for the leisure battery, tho'.

The black box is the relay for an electric fuel pump (if I can ever be arsed to fit it).

  13. Thanks to Covid19 I've welded in a new front cross member, wiring harness tube and new outriggers and jacking points. Followed by a freshen up underneath.
I'm now tidying up the wiring at the fuse board and have just ordered new relays.

  14. The last time I took Filmore out, I wound down the window, there was some crunching sounds, and then it wouldn't go back up. Another job for the list I thought. Tackled it today.
I took the panel off to find most of the window channel sitting in the bottom of the door. As I have time on my hands, I figured I'd make a new one.
The bracket was still bolted to the carrier, so that came off and I cleaned it up.
I then formed some flat sheet over a bit of 6 mm plate I use for forming stuff. This ended up being a bit of a mission, but I got there. Unfortunately it did take on a curve. I don't have a shrinking hammer.
The rubber strip cleaned up and was still supple so that went back in.
I had a bit of trouble fitting it as the original is angled and mine is flat, so I ended up having to bend the bracket, as it was stressing the carrier.
I did'nt realise the position would be so critical, so had to move it by mm until the window went up and down smoothly. 1mm either side and it bound. Excuse the white paint, I ran out of black doing my tinware. No one's going to see it.

  18. I thought you meant the battery. Yes, everythings well grounded. Just time for tidy up of all the stuff I've crammed down the back (and to check whether my battery trays are rotting).
