Not working due to Coronavirus, Sarah’s mum dieing, stressed about my dad getting ill and now the addition that Sarah has two blood clots! One in her leg and one in her lung.

Fortunately she finally ignored my diagnosis of breathlessness being caused by stress and leg pain by doing Joe Wicks PE

Double fortunately, the Dr who referred her for ECG and blood test hadn’t said to test for clots but the nurse, whose mother had died from undiagnosed clot, did it anyway.

The Drs rang early next morning to go up to A&E, so now she’s had an anticoagulant injection, is on blood thinners and has another appt at hospital next week as there are no, as yet, apparent reasons why it’s happened.

Until then it’s feet up with a cup of tea. I have said she could relieve boredom by doing household stuff whilst I’m doing her gardening duties :D

That's sad to read you've got more stresses to deal with At least your at home to help Sarah. Take care, it a tough time at the moment. I've found keeping busy has been my best coping method, but it hasn't always worked.

Cheers @Louey , I don’t seem to have done all the house/van/work jobs I should have yet so starting to think I defo need to go earn some cash and haven’t used my down time productively!

    How’s your cat today?

I started off with good intentions too with lots of jobs. Got ill, so stopped, then restarted but very lazily. The positive side being that I know more bird species names and all of the green walks around here

Nakia just seems dozy and miserable this morning she hates having the cone on. Might have to take her back to the vets this afternoon as a lot of the staples have come off.

Virtual hugs to you both x. The anticoagulants should do the job and she'll be closely monitored now hopefully.

I was reading about that this morning! Not been tested, in fact person from next weeks appointment asked as they thought all people going into A&E were being tested. They are 2 different hospitals. Hopefully she’s not got lurgy too! Especially as we’ve been to look after my dad. We also want to steer clear of him now that Sarah’s been in the hospital so will miss his 88 birthday :(

  12. Sorry, I didn't want to panic you, but it's better to know than not....as they say a diagnosis is part of the journey towards getting back to normal, you need a diagnosis to get treatment.

No panic thanks, we wanted her to have the test so we would know where we were.

They should give nurses a greater roll. All that experience and so often they have to keep their mouths shut when they know best.
Best wishes to you and yours.

I think one of the things that I’ve noticed when I’ve been treated is that nurses really tend to listen to you more than Doctors. Maybe they have more time, or are just more down to Earth?

  20. You're both having a bad run of luck it seems - but a positive outcome from this Covid experience is perhaps people will drop the obsession of keeping busy all the time, what does it actually achieve?
