Hi Are these the right led lights to replace the ones in my speedo? https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/co...sic-car-gauge-dashboard?variant=8299348131935 I know I can change every one apart from the generator and indicator ones.
You’ve opened a can-o-worms of opinions on their necessity. I’m interested too. I bought a set and ended up not using them. Did a lot of wiring & earth improvement on my dash and that helped a lot with brightness (even removed the little green bulb housings)...I wouldn’t say no to it being even brighter though. The ones you’ve linked to look a lot better than the ones I got. The slight pain is that they, I believe, only work in one orientation, so of course in my ignorance I was on the wrong side 50/50 chance at first Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I replaced all mine with new filament bulbs in the end way cheaper and a 70% improvement on the older ones that where in as they had blackened inside the glass. Cost was about 2 quid for 10 off the eBay.
You can do the alt light if you're determined enough... @snotty will know how to work that with the indicators no doubt. Pinched from samba - I bumped into it yesterday.
You can change them all, except for the alternator light. No probs with the indicator repeater light. Definite improvement, IMO. The bulbs from memory are the thinner 286-base ones, not the ones in your link.
Most useful one for me was the full beam one as I can now see it in daylight. Get it in blue. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
Another advantage of LEDs, is they consume a lot less power than bulbs, so you can have more of them for your rev counter, worry gauges etc without running the risk of burning out the rheostat? Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk
That one doesnt work for the case where the alternator voltage goes very high because of a regulator fault. Best to leave that one as filament. I also have an aftermarket electronic flasher relay which sits there buzzing/squeaking. if you replace the filament bulb with a lower current LED. So that one stays filament too..
Just put an led strip in the back of the binnacle , did mine a couple of years ago and still going strong https://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/lighting-the-instrument-cluster.59814/page-3
