  1. Well done - looking great

Rustoleum does the trick , another coat or two and it'll be fine. Best to leave it a day or two between coats ....

  6. Actually, I might put the twiddly pot back in. It is a thing of beauty.

I've made a start on sorting out the 'heating' system. I've made sure the flaps are free and lubricated them ( Leave it !!!! ) on the heat exchangers. I've replaced the cables with new bought from A. Schofield's at Dub freeze. It looks like I need one new heat exchanger as there is rot/holes in the right hand one (drivers side RHD ) . I've not hooked the cables up to the boxes yet, a job for another day. I've also got to free off the cable/flap in the totem pole as it' difficult to operate. Does anyone do the short cable, if not I will butcher one of the old long cables I took out? I managed to knacker up my knee whilst doing the above so out of action for a bit......never mind we are not going anywhere soon!

  13. Oi! Took the radio out, as the gauges are more useful. Can see the radio loom dangling on the left. It may end up in the glovebox. Can't hear it with the van running, anyway.

  14. Been a while, but you used to be able to get the totem pole cable. The other one under the cab floor to the diverter was the troublesome one. Should be able to mod something for the totem pole.

I don't have the diverter so one less to worry about. I'll have a look round for the totem pole cable but if not I'll mod one of the ones that I removed.

  16. Should be possible. Important bit’s the end attached to the heater lever. The totem pole end is just a cranked bit that goes in the lever hole.

One of the cables I took out has a good end the same as the short cable which fits into the dash heater lever. That's the one I'll use. Many thanks.

I did exactly that too. Not worth splashing out, as long as the lever end is good. It's so short that amount is rarely seized.
