Techenders: 24th - 26th April 2020

Discussion in 'Shows Events You've Missed unless you went' started by Baysearcher, Sep 16, 2019.

  1. You need a proper gas certified person for this job. There may be people with those skills at techenders, but you would still need it checking and signing off.

The gas lo people must know someone local to you

  2. Preferably someone certified. I thought someone on here might be but can’t find anyone.
I’ll have it all setup (Filler, Locker etc) so it will just need the pipe work and coupling up.
I’ll give Gaslow a call too but I bet it’s pretty pricey

I’ve got a can of spray that certifies it ‘good enough’

I’ll bring it if you want ?

There’s not any real proper regs , any competent person can do it

  5. Can you bring a can for Mains & Inverter electrics too?

  6. True. I’ve followed all the recommendations, on here and other sources, so it will be all ok.
I’m not fully competent or confident to do it though! ha ha
No worries as i’ve found several certified installers in my area. Will get one round to chat it through.
    Cheers

Does anyone remember if the ramp on the farm is a four poster type that lifts under the wheels/tyres. Or is it the type that lifts in between the front and back wheels, ie lifts under the body work/chassis/ outriggers etc.
As my bus has an underslung lpg tank the latter is no good for me and I was hoping to get it up in the air.

    cheers

The last one was a drive on type, I’m pretty sure the new one is the same.

oi! Don’t you go disrespecting my fab profession! @PanZer I'm Gas Safe registered but for natural gas, not LPG. I also have a can of leak spray, I guess that’s what you are bringing @Dazza ? :)

don’t forget to drain the oil before you powder coat the engine, don’t want to get grit in it ;)

believe it or not I once had a customer powder coat a complete turnkey engine  , Dynamo was stuck solid :D , I cleaned everything the best I could, surprisingly ( no to my amazement!!!) it ran sweet after and still does 3 years later

I know In the grand scheme of things there are probably more important things to ask questions of at the moment but what’s everyone’s opinion about this going ahead?

assuming the government don’t enforce any restrictions and eddy is still ok with it - I think I’m still up for it at this point in time

I’m a bit anxious about hygiene levels at TE - have you seen some of the people who go?

I was definitely thinking about this!

I would love to go. As it is not an organised gathering it would be outside of the 'current' government guidelines.
We would need to ensure that Eddy was happy to go and that everyone was sensible and if they were feeling in anyway ill they should not come (or stay in the top field ;-) )

I'm going to dip out. Yes it takes the pressure off getting the MoT by end of April but seriously that's not the reason. I'm not in the highest risk group being only a youthful 61 but I do have some heart issues. I am staying isolated now to be safe and my wife is now working from home.
