Latest I've seen. To give some scale to what has happened here so far, international media outlets have been reporting the 2018 California fires burnt 2 million acres; the 2019 Amazon fires 2.2 million; and the 2019 Siberian fires 6.7 million. So far Australia's 2019/20 fires have burnt 12 million acres. Try this to give you a sense of scale...... https://www.theguardian.com/austral...n-the-east-coast-of-australia-interactive-map
It's getting closer but apart from a little bit of ash and a couple of burnt leaves, we keep wondering when it's coming.
They've been thinning and clearing brush in the woods here in Oregon over the last couple years. Fires every year that grow much larger than they used to. Hoping you come out of this as well as possible.
I stay cool in lot's of situations, but I don't know how I would handle this. Looks like the fire will come from everywhere in seconds! Remind me the movie "Scorched". What's behind my understanding is why there isn't international help offered or accepted?
@Kkkaty you told me that you and the girls always think about me in East Grinstead after a night out now it's Don in Australia, I'm not appy
Terrordales, I'm new to this forum and we obviously have not met, but I wish you all the best and hope that you and yours all stay safe.
Love your old farmhouse btw. Really hope it all escapes the flames. In the previous pic, did you cut down the trees and chip them to keep the fire back? Reports in the UK say that Victoria residents have now been told to stay put as three fires have joined up and it’s too dangerous to move...
May I ask if the hirsuteness of yourself and your flock is a coincidence? Either way I hope none of you get singed. Good luck.
Betty will be pleased when I tell her what you’ve named her after , but I don’t think she will let you trim her bush take care bud
In amongst all of this, your photos are strangely beautiful Don. (The landscapes and animals, that is...... oh, go on, and the selfie )
