Driveability, colour and finances all played their part ... and 1 1/2 buses is quite enough

Exactly ... Considering selling the project either complete or in bits ... or press on with a DIY paint job (more than a year away) then reconsider.
First car was a 70's 1303 in mid 80's and my parents' neighbour of forty years had a beat of a 1200 from new that I covered but wasn't around when he sold it

If nothing else, it's worth it for the strange looks you get at fuel stations when lifting the bonnet to put fuel in

 

That's one very expensive rig that is ...bet it's a treat to drive , is it fully automatic ?

 

More importantly does it have lay-by parking assist and ergonomic lump hammer storage?

You've given me a flash back to the first time I met my now 32 year old Step Daughter when she was four ... It was a little bit of theatre for her benefit ... I opened the 1303 bonnet and said "Oh NO! Someone's borrowed the engine!! What are we going to do?!!! ... Ah silly me, I put it in the back so it can push us up the hill to your house ..."
She just stood there with her mouth wide open.
