Love it! Don't know why they bothered to manhandle the cars, the train could have done that for them!

  3. Excellent! Looking at the scenes, I thought the cars looked older than the date at the beginning of the film...so I looked it up. Can any one make out the registration of the Police Ford van in the last minute of the film?

"Weymouth Harbour Tramway (also known as the Quay Branch or Harbour Line) is a disused heavy rail line running entirely on the streets of Weymouth, Dorset, England from a junction to the north of Weymouth station to Weymouth Quay station at Weymouth Harbour. Built in 1865, it was last used for timetabled British Rail services in 1987. Its last-ever services were special trains on 1 April 1995 and 2 May 1999."

it is a bit of Gem that video. I really liked the nostalgia of the cars and the clothing too.

  7. There's a lot of info on Wikipedia, but I don't know how accurate it is. Certainly, the info on Wikipedia and the 1994 date on the film would appear to contradict one another. Unless the film was released much later than it was filmed. To me, the cars looked pre 1994, more like very late 80's. That's why I was asking about the Police car's registration, that's likely to be a new car at that time and may help dating the film.

I am guessing You're right as I thought similar. I think the last time that Loco did that trip may have been 94, but definitely eighties vehicles in the main.

How fab was that? I would love to have been the train driver.
I can’t imagine it happening now. The car owners would be saying their cars had been damaged and they were suing, the route would have fencing along and some muppets would keep pulling out in front of it! :)

  13. Looks like C, but hard to tell. Looks like a generation 3 Fiesta van, so after 89. Not C must be K reg.

  15. Yes, model shape is a giveaway.

  16. That puts it post 1992 :) I wonder, given all the hassle to move cars, if this is one of those special runs? Wouldn't the locals know not to park near the line if a regular service was in operation? No way this is tourist season, either!

I think it's kind of mothballed at the moment, so might be used again, or not.
