I’ve dabbled over the years - anything from N gauge to 5 inch garden stuff. Currently messing about with another outside set-up. Fair play to Rod - a massive amount of dedication to get where he is.

Yeh, the railway modelling is really amazing. And you can just imagine the girl friends begging him for a night out around Monaco, sorry love but...

    Double amazing

  10. I loved the bit where he said that he used to book an extra room when on tour so he could make some scenery in his down time.

  12. Nah the extra room was for 'models' that have 'gone off the rails'!

    That looks brilliant!

Apparently Rod heard of a railway modeller having all of his layout stolen and covered soe of the replacement costs

  16. Pete Waterman has a large trainset based on Leamington Spa where he was brought up. I built my own modest train set, all Hornby Dublo 3 rail. It started out from my childhood train set from the 1950's and added to in recent years and new modern and safe transformer/ controller to replace the old dodgy electrics. Its simple fun.

Yeh, had a look at Pete Waterman’s on utube last night.

Jules Holland is another. Looking at his model railway, I think the old intro to his Later with Jules must have been filmed around this with the tram thing etc. Didn’t realise at the time

  18. Brilliant set up - I had a small set in the early 50s but a friend of mine had one that filled his spare room - lift up track in door way and ten sit in centre with track all round .
Didn't realise Rod was a modeller - a bit different from his Rod the Mod days when I saw him in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in 1964
