I couldn't leave Album Day without this one. I know U2 are a bit of divisive choice, and they're not a band I particularly even like (especially their later stuff) but in my opinion this is one of the finest albums of all time: U2 - The Joshua Tree
I couldn't agree more, don't listen to their later stuff very much, but I wore my original out. Bought the rerelease box set two years ago. Fab
Can't believe nobody mentioned these guys, just mixing it up a bit. Not their best album but I can't lay my hands on my copy of Screamadelia.
How did I forget this? Not one duff track! You hear? Not one! A band at the height of their powers, and no Jools in sight
Great thread topic @scrooge95 From me, any of The Streets albums, but I give you... Don’t mug yourself, from Original Pirate Material.
superb album. Right, i'm a bit late to this party but have done my best to catch up and some of my choices have gone except... hold on, first i need to take issue with @art b - oi, i quite like stormzy! This may be more to do with his socio-political convictions (which are inherently sound as the proverbial pound) but i do recognise his stuff, though i am yet to be able to sing a long to it. That doesn't make it crap, it's just not for us anyhoo, where was i *puts the readers on* oh yes, how has it got to five pages without a mention of the finest album in the history of the world- i'm pretty sure i checked thoroughly and didn't skim - maybe. 'Talking Book' obvs ....and what is this business of picking only one track from the greatest album... DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE! oh ok then
My all time favourite U2 song, I'm having it played at my funeral(hopefully not for a looooooonngg time yet obviously)! Few bands divide opinion like U2, mostly down to Bono coming across as a nob even if he means well As much as I love them, and I still do, I pretty much never listen to anything post Achtung Baby (actually their best album) which came out a mere 28 years ago
