    You can see the southern sky is a bit pink, first sighting of the Aurora this winter.


    Taken last night and the ski-doo ride back from Charlotte Pass was bloody cold.

    That was a 30 second exposure at f22 ISO 800 with a 15mm Canon Lens on a Canon 5D Mk.II.

  5. Your using a good tripod then. I don't think people realize how hard night shots are have you played with filters to knock out some of the light spectrum.
     
  6. Lovely photo, are they stars up there? I live in the city of Kent where light pollution spoils any chance of taking sky photos.

    Carbon Fibre Manfroto tripod with extra sandbags to weight the legs and one sandbag hanging from directly below the camera. The only filter is a 1A which is kept on to protect the lens.
