Bella is my left hand drive 1976 VW Westfalia Type 2 late bay which I’ve owned and enjoyed for 4 years, but am selling due to a change in circumstances.

She has the original Westfalia interior which is in excellent condition with all the genuine furniture including sink with running water, 2 ring gas hob, fridge, adjustable table, underseat storage compartments, wardrobe, cupboard and drawers at the rear of the van, a table for the cab, and of course the rock n’ roll bed and double bed in the pop-top (with new canvas) so she can comfortably sleep 4 people. She also has a cab-top luggage holder. The flooring is also in excellent condition and was replaced by the previous owners. The cab also has a bamboo shelf, CD player with front and rear speakers, and USB chargers, and there are seat belts fitted in the front and rear for 4 people.

She also comes with two spare tyres, one on the front and another in the back, early and new registration plates, and a winter cover.

She benefits from a powerful 2 litre engine which was recently serviced, the carbs cleaned and balanced and idle valves replaced. I had all the fuel hoses replaced, new brakes fitted all round, new shocks front and rear, along with new ball joints and a front wheel geometry so she drives really well. With new heater pods and cables fitted the interior heating works too. She was also freshly undersealed.

The original orange awning is also included in the sale, as well as a second new drive-away awning as seen in the photos which has two double bedrooms, and has only been used a handful of times. A hook-up provides power when camping.

Need to know - There is some rust at the bottom of the doors, and rear valance, and a crack rear offside behind the lights.

She has an 11-month MOT expiring towards the end of April 2020 and comes with a very comprehensive history and file of all receipts from 1976 to the present day, even original owners manuals, her original test certificate, and a number of workshop manuals. She’s a superb van which will give someone many happy memories.

Not that it matters but is it a ‘76? The plate would say otherwise.

He hasn’t been back since posting the ad so I’d text him.

  6. Hi John

Hope you'll not be disappointed but she's now sold. Thanks for your interest though!

  7. Hey Baysearcher

Yes you're right. The van was originated in Germany, imported and then registered in the UK, hence the apparent discrepancy in her number plate.
