Hey all, Started the leisure wiring today. I’m running feeds both to the R&R bed and also the front (stereo etc). Where did you pop the wiring through from the engine bay to the interior? I’ll be using the spare wheel well for the spare (if I ever get one!) Also, went to back the bus out a bit to give me space round the sides and it didn’t start.. I’ve got power, relays click when going to acc. position on the switch. Go to start and the dash lamps dim but nothing happens - dodgey starter solenoid? What tests can I do to diagnose this? Thanks!! Adam
Sadly after having the battery on charge all afternoon and passing the diagnostic test on the charger, still no cranking.. I wonder if it’s a sticky solenoid or something at the starter?
Probably starter solenoid but worth simulating a hot start relay by connecting a fairly heavy wire to the male tag on the starter and tapping that on the battery positive. If that has an effect and the starter spins then you may need a new ignition switch. Also make sure the battery clamps are on tight snd the battery earth strap and gearbox to chassis straps sre good, and the big wire on the starter from the battery is cleanly connected.
Thanks for your input everyone. I'll try hitting the starter tonight @EggBoxes , see if it frees that up. If it is, can the solenoid be replaced or is it the whole starter that has to go? Hot start is also a worth trying, thank you @mikedjames
Hot start relay did the trick. Mounted it up high out of the way. Such a simple mod it would be worth everyone doing it just to save your ignition switches
