Thanks for tip .I have heard mixed reports so thought I would try and get some used or NOS German ones.[/QUOTE] I got some from JK about 11 years ago, so probably Brazil ones, haven't had an issue with them.
Engine all plumbed in and I gave it a basic tune and it sounds good.Always a worry when the engine has sat on my workbench all wrapped up for approx 12 years. Just got the calipers back from being reconditioned .I used a company called Bigg Red and i cannot fault the service whatsoever.
Nice relaxed morning starting to fit the sound deadening. It is one of those jobs where you get immediate visual results and job satisfaction.Anyone recommend a decent damp resistant insulation material ? .
Up early this morning and replacing all the front brakes .After returning two different questionable quality brake flexible hoses from local suppliers ,VW Heritage came good with superb German made ones .
Backplates painted and now fitted .Trial fitted the drums without and brake shoes and it is rubbing off the new paint in a couple of places so in the process of filling down the lip of the drums
Brakes all finished ,doors sound deadened completed and now doing a few 'shiny/showey' jobs like fitted the rear bumper and the shiney wheel trims .Next jobs are fitting a new fuel pump and weighing up how to go about the interior refit.
Had a bit of spare time today so carefully drilled and refitted all the deluxe trim. It toke ages to find the correct size screws in stainless steel and had to buy a really big packet of 500 so if anyone needs some ?
With great sadness i have to report that Alexis passed away peacefully at home on the 30th of July . I would like to thank the moderators for allowing me to sell the spares on the site and also all of the buyers especially Dan who has been very understanding throughout the whole clearing process.
