i can’t believe the impatience of road users today.

This morning I have seen three people overtake on double unbroken white lines, and one bloke be so frustrated waiting at a roundabout he actually side swiped the car next to him in anger.

Honestly, it’s madness out here some days!

Saw a Range Rover last week going over Woodhead, overtook on 3 blind bends. Still only ended up about 10 cars in front at the end of it.

I've had a few people overtake me in the van as I approach roundabouts giving me little room for braking. Not fun!

  4. I've been overtaken in a 30mph limit a few times and on blind bends with double white lines, its madness and I've lost count of the times impatient drivers have raced out of side roads across in front of me and often with nothing behind me, but they just can't wait 1 second.

  5. We have a lot of 20 mph around our neck of the woods,I guarantee that if I drive at 20 a queue will form behind it's great fun for a sad bloke

We're plagued by 20mph zones round here.
    Even the police ignore them.

It’s peoples inability to go round corners that get me, they either way over brake or go into the hedge.

The best safety device that could be fitted to a car would be a big spike on the steering wheel.

  8. Yeah - the number of times I've been going along at 40 in a 40 zone - with the statutory 2 second gap to the vehicle in front - and then the knob behind decides to overtake me and then cuts me up to get in my gap ----and then he sits there in the same space.

What this country needs is loads of unmarked police cars pulling up bad drivers just to waste time and lecture them about the error of their ways

Brake for corners ? read the road see the limit point of the bend adjust speed on approach by use of the accelerator pedal and gears and whoosh around the corner well on you own side of the road without cutting the center line markings and leave the morons in there audis and BMWs to get all out of shape as they try to follow you through.. Its a great laugh watching them fall way behind on the twisty roads .. while you maintain a steady speed with zero braking to warn them of the impending bend they cant see as they are so far up your backside ..

Problem is they have no clue how to drive , dash indicator says they should be in gear 6 so they think the car knows best after all they pay the hire fee for this 70k piece of sheepMarmite and expect it to do all the driving.. You cant corner in gear 6 at 60 you have zero control and that is why most folk seem to be cutting the center lines on bends these days .. worse than I ever remember it ..

My wife has a diesel mini cooper 6 speed manual, I hardly ever get it out of 3rd unless its well in excess of the legal speed limit .. funny enough my 1930 model A does the same job in 3rd as well .. progress ... well maybee not as much as were lead to believe .. lol

Here in Italy it's normal for cars to overtake you no matter where or what road markings there are ( not sure they understand any road markings)
Also very often cars will not stop at red traffic light...if there's nothing coming they go.

When driving in bigger mountains you look up or down the hill to see whats coming and then overtake blind using the wide bit on the outside of the hairpins ....

I had a glorious drive like that going up to Pas de la Casa into Andorra from France in an old Peugeot diesel turbo, back in 1993, as at 8000 feet altitude it was the fastest thing on the road.

Either way its a modern piece of Marmite .. kinda along the same lines as a classic mini but lets in less water
