As it says above thinking quite hard about this now I've spoken to the boys at fellows and also Jay's garage is there anyone else who does the conversion? I am not opposed to doing it myself the fellows DIY kit looks doable but as I don't have a garage for my bus it's a bit off putting
What are your plans Matt, I’ve been given the go ahead to pull the trigger and get Major converted once the interior is done and re upholstered.
Will do, where are you in the country? Can you send me some pictures of your bus, underneath and the engine bay
How ever if you had a running driving car that you were happy with the engine then i would happily use that but obviously there would be a charge for removal of the engine and loom etc. it wouldn't really make the conversion any cheaper.
Ha ha like that /\ /\ I've got that scooby itch too.. I'm trying to persuade the mrs that it's the rite thing to do... RIP the bleeding heart out of it ... you in Lincolnshire @pkrboo ??
Joking aside. What’s the cost difference between fitting a 2lt Subaru compared to a 2lt type 4?? Are type 4 engines that available still?
That was the plan and is still on the table but I’ve always had a scooby conversion at the back of my mind. I’m thinking in the longer term, what motor would give better returns on fuel for trips to Scotland, Wales, Cornwall etc. Not justifying it to pay for itself but putting a bit more mpg into the bus over those distances
You should keep that big nose out of this thread nothing for you to see here. Anyway you don't even have a camper let alone an air-cooled one. I've got a Subaru engined bus, its fantastic to drive and the best thing I ever did.
