Does anybody have experience of this type of pump? Mine isn’t working. Power is getting to the switch which clicks but no sound or anything from the pump. Water will flow if I use the manual pump section. Any ideas on what it could be or the name/manufacturer of the pump if it needs replacing?
Does power get to the pump and is it earthed ok? The motor might be stuck, have you tried gently tapping it?
Will check the earth, not really sure where it is connected. Two cables come directly from the switch. Given it a light tap and nothing.
The pump relies on lip seals on the motor shaft. By now they have long given up and the insides of the motor have turned to rust. What I did was to hack the electric pump bit off and glue the spigot directly onto the hamd pump bit with PVC pipe weld and then connect one of these in series. (Actually I used one of the pond pump/PC cooling variants which is a bit cheaper) https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/182766011768 And then plumb it like this. It means I get a brushless 12 volt motor with a ceramic rotor doing the pumping. No rotating seals. No metal in the pump mechanism. It still uses the hand pump for priming. No changes to the water tank installation.
Bin it and plumb in one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Whale-Pu...9-f900-4acb-8fa9-fa1b362412d5&epid=2279854804
