  2. Agree there could be more for the slightly older kids + starting evening food at 7pm it's to late if you've got young children.
We went (family) but only met @ginger ninja Don't think there were any other families there from tlb and maybe VolksWorld/kelsey know this so don't cater as much. We liked walking the field though and saw some nice VW's and the airstream was cool. The bug opposite us was also a fav.

Some of the display vehicles were stunning but a lot were a showcase for companies to get business. I like to know about a vehicle, what's been done etc and the real people, not companies.
It was well organised though, plenty of staff. I thought the food (hot dogs) were Marmite and the people we did talk to were very friendly.

I did festival food for a few years.
The trouble is that food stalls get hammered on fees. The only way to make any money is to knock out cheap and quick to cook food, ideally for daft prices. Hence crap quality burgers and hotdogs, chips etc.
I know it’s a different scale but we used to pay £1600 per day to trade at Glastonbury, and that was probably 20 years ago!
A mate of mine has started a bbq festival catering business. His food is great but they just can’t make it pay....

    This
also if you do go to events with stalls selling nice interesting food the biggest que will still be at the burger van.

I know one ice cream guy gets charged £4000 for a pitch at Glastonbury and it’s not even near a main stage.

most people aren't on here to make a living from it, £8 for a westy curtain strap isn't bad actually

anybody know how much it costs to rent the place out for the event or even hazard a guess? I don't have a clue but I bet its crazy money.

how much is a weekend ticket with camping etc?

    They’re not.
A curry or a Chinese takes takes ages comparatively. You need to be able to cook it as you sell it. If you make stuff in advance you either sell out by lunchtime, or end up binning a load at the end of the show. Neither is good for your bottom line.
Burgers, sausages and chips just stay in the freezer until the following weekend.

  15. Everyone has to eat , so if that’s all there is people will eat that stuff. Goodwood and most other events seem to manage well with food from all continents.
