Never been without a tape deck in mi van , just seemed `wrong` to replace it with a Bluetooth radio / CD player i had kicking around - keeping it real since .... Far too long
Ha ha! Well I like to think I’ve got good taste in music...! I’m sure many would disagree Actually never had that many prerecorded cassettes, but did have loads of mix tapes I made. I always preferred records, so the only time I ever bought a cassette was if mum had given me a lift into town and she was on one about the amount of pocket money I spent on music.... she’d have spotted an LP but a cassette was easy to hide in my pocket!! For this reason I mostly went on the bus!
I've got a genuine 1979 Westfalia Cassette Tape rewind and fast forward tool....it's also been calibrated so as to allow you to tension the actual tape correctly! I know! What will those boffins think of next! But it's not able to do just the above, this one has been customised with the help of Nasa. Porsche and Lotus engineers to enable you to wind tape that has run off a spool! But that's not all. It comes with a functioning writing head so you can write your favourite Hit Parade band names! Just for this month it also has a special delete tool so if you are a numpty and wrote The Beetles or Bross, you can change it!! You might struggle with a round pencil Technology has moved on so much since the days of twiddling a pencil to wind a tape, I needed to do this recently and found a pencil in a cordless drill worked wonders, its an amazing time we're living in
You aren't supposed to discover that until it arrives at your door!!! I'd have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids....
They were very experimental weren't they....it took some guts to play a cover of The Sound of Silence on each album as the only track. Can't argue with their success, for every Brixton Briefcase there was a Head Cleaner album sold.
I’d suggest finding a millennial placing them in front of the ‘tape deck...’ and asking them to make it play music... Step back and enjoy the inevitable puzzled looks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
